This is true.
I think part of what drives any new social media platform is the fact that parents are not using it (i.e. “just don’t get it”). Facebook was cool until the moms and dads had to be buzz kills and get their own facebook accounts and “friend” their kids, now it is in slight decline as teens move to other platforms where the parents are not screening their activities. It doesn’t matter how lame it is, or how much it is like other sites, if the parents are not on it then it is still cool.
You’re probably right. I guess I’ve just reached an age where the thought of social interaction with my parents isn’t anathema.
Not that I ever actually felt that way, mind you.
