The song is “Last House on the Street,” by the Young Dubliners. It’s a song a band my uncle used to be in played sometimes. Hillbilly chords are basic, open chords like G or C.
And in case you’re curious, you can capo in the 4th fret and do it all with G, C, F, Em, and Am.
Just a song I whipped up a couple of weeks ago. When my brother makes it into town later in February, we’re going to take a crack at recording it for realsies.
Quicksand Hands (Demo)
It’s a pretty neat documentary, really. Basically a camera crew sitting around chatting with Lynne and guys like Tom Petty, George Harrison’s wife and son, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney. You can find it here.
There may be a reason my efforts to lose weight don’t usually succeed.
Just a quick character sketch for a story I started writing this afternoon.
Off celebrating my anniversary this weekend (the actual anniversary was a couple of weeks ago, but my wife was sick that week). Got stuck in the snow in West Virginia right in front of the bed and breakfast where we’re staying, so that was…well, not fun, but an experience, at least.
Going away for the weekend. Hopefully I’ll be able to update while I’m away, but no promises.
The cats do this all the time. I don’t know if they think I need them or what, but it’s more than a little weird.
