Submitted a short story to a magazine a few weeks ago. It was rejected, unfortunately, but the editor who emailed me did have some kind things to say and some useful constructive criticism. Ultimately, I won’t be sitting in my underwear, eating a tub of cookie dough ice cream, and crying, but I won’t say I’m not disappointed.

WE LOVE YOU! 🙂 Keep trying! Have you ever submitted your sketches anywhere?
I’m not really too bothered by the rejection. It’s quite common for unknown writers to receive dozens of rejections before getting something accepted.
My sketches and comics I tend to just keep here, though I’ve considered self-publishing a collection of them.
I second the “we love you.” Keep trying and reaching for the new venue, the short story format.
Thanks. Like I said, I’m not really that bummed out. Creative folks get rejection notices all the time, but it’s not gonna stop me from trying again.
This is my life, except with philosophy journal articles
Oof, I remember trying to get stuff published as a history grad student. You have my sympathies.
