Off celebrating my anniversary this weekend (the actual anniversary was a couple of weeks ago, but my wife was sick that week). Got stuck in the snow in West Virginia right in front of the bed and breakfast where we’re staying, so that was…well, not fun, but an experience, at least.
Going away for the weekend. Hopefully I’ll be able to update while I’m away, but no promises.
The cats do this all the time. I don’t know if they think I need them or what, but it’s more than a little weird.
My wife loves that song, possibly because of all the different variations she can do about people and things around her (mostly the cats).
Had a weird issue with the washing machine overnight. Easy fix, just had to pull a washcloth out of the drain that had stopped it up and kinda sorta flooded the laundry room. Good times.
Did a rest run of my home-brewed pencil and paper RPG system this evening. It went pretty well, I think, though it needs some tweaking. Had fun, though.
I’ve been reading Cherie Priest’s Clockwork Century series lately, a set of steampunk novels set in an alternate 1870s where the Civil War hasn’t ended yet and there are airships and the city of Seattle was destroyed by a digging machine and walled off because a weird gas started seeping up from underground and turning the people into mindless, shambling monsters. It’s good stuff. The first book, Bomeshaker, is excellent, and the second book, Clementine, is a slight but enjoyable read. I’ll definitely be reading the rest of this series.
I love reading, possibly more than any of the other hobbies I have. Reading is, in fact, truly awesome.
I’ve been taking a lot of naps lately, which causes me to have trouble falling asleep at night. Which causes me to take naps when I get home from work.
Cycles suck, is what I’m saying.
