One of my favorite tropes is the gunslinger who has fallen on hard times and become the town drunk. Of course, then he goes and takes up the gun again to fight evil or whatever. It’s great. I do kinda love westerns.

We’re entering our third week of sketches. Today’s is what I imagine goes through my students’ minds as they sit in class, attempting to learn on a Monday morning.

Spent the weekend doing things with my in-laws, so I thought it’d be fun to do a quick little sketch of them. Less, my mother-in-law really has Kramer hair. It’s true.

Went with the in-laws today to see a local community theatre version of A Christmas Carol. It wasn’t horrible, honestly, and they did have the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come glide around on rollerblades. Anyway, here’s a Scrooge for you. I really want an old-timey nightshirt like that.

My friend Emily and I are a band called Kraken Vacuum. We’re a folky, indie-country sorta thing with lots of strummed guitars and a bit of twang. And lots of hand percussion, because why the hell not? Anyway, here’s a drawing of a Kraken and a vacuum, together again for the first time. It’s been raining here in Northern Virginia all day, and so of course today was the day I took a group of students to a museum up in Washington, DC. Have a rainy day sort of doodle.
