I dragged the Wife to a Bob Evans for dinner last night. Mostly, I just had a craving for sausage gravy that would not go away, and I needed my fix. I was pretty pleased with the gravy, especially the fact that it came in a giant bowl. The Wife was less than impressed, though, but she’s not really a gravy fan.

Pretty full day. Spent most of it cleaning. Also tutored, though. I’m pretty beat.

Two neat things of note, though: I passed 100 followers on the blog this weekend! It feels like a pretty big milestone, and I’m glad so many people enjoy what I’m doing here.

Second, my youngest brother’s son was born on Sunday afternoon! He was a couple of weeks early, but like most members of my family had a huge noggin, do he had to come out via C-section. Mother and baby are doing fine, or so I’ve heard. I won’t get to see the tyke until August.

One of my students, a kid with some serious problems with verbal communication, has finally receive some assistive technology from his base school system. Unfortunately, the kid graduates next week, at which point all of this expensive equipment they’ve provided will be taken back.

Yes, this kid who’s been in our school for the past seven years has only just now, in the past two weeks, received some useful assistive technology.

Sometimes, the bureaucracy and ridiculous red tape of the public school systems just makes me sad.
