Yes, there is a typo in the sketch. I am leaving it there because it helps prove the point: mornings are really tough if you aren’t allowed to have caffeine. For six years, I’ve been caffeine-free, and it’s been hard. Very hard.

When I was a freshman in high school, lo these many moons ago, I got this green microfiber jacket. I loved that thing. I wore it all throughout high school, college, and graduate school. Though it no longer fits, and is ratty beyond all belief, it hangs still in the closet. I won’t be getting rid of it anytime soon, much to my wife’s chagrin.

On my brother’s recommendation, I watched the movie Echotone this evening. It’s a strange documentary, examining a number of Austin musicians trying to “make it” on their own terms or create the music they want to or whatever. Most of them come across as too precious or twee or pretentious or whatever. It’s a weird movie, but probably worth watching if you’re a musician yourself.
