#600 – Milestones

Hard to believe I’ve been doing this for almost two years now. I don’t know why we seem programmed to like big, round numbers, but we do, and I’m glad there are so many of you along for the ride now.

I’m thinking of making a few changes, though. First, I’m not going to be calling it “Sketch a Day” anymore. For a good chunk of the last three or four hundred days, it’s really been just a comic each day, not a sketch. So you’ll notice a different title for this particular entry.

Second, I’m going to try to be more consistent with update times. Maybe I’ll set up an automatic update to go up a midnight each day. Consistent updates (and maybe even working ahead) will make this a very different project, going forward.

Finally, I think I’ll mostly stick to just sketches on the weekends. Traffic is lightest those days anyway, and it’ll give me time to get comics made more consistently.

So yeah, here we go for another six hundred, I guess.

Sketch a Day, Day 500 (Pencils)

Hadn’t realized tonight’s sketch was #500. It’s late now, though, and I’m tired, so here’s the pencils for a sketch of me as Commander Shepherd from the Mass Effect series (though I play as Fem Shep). I’ll ink the thing tomorrow, maybe throw in some color, even.

NaNoWriMo Update #9

I think I’m done with the first draft of the novel.

I’m up a bit later than I really should be, considering I haven’t slept much the past two nights, but I was so close to being done, and felt kinda inspired tonight, so I decided to just push on through anyway. I ended up with about 50,100 words or so, give or take.

Admittedly, this is just the first – probably very rough – draft, and it’ll need some other eyes to take a look at it and make some suggestions and help me make sure it makes sense and isn’t complete rubbish.

But hey, I’ve written a novel-length story, or two stories that I’ve stitched together haphazardly into a single story! Huzzah!
