Went with the in-laws today to see a local community theatre version of A Christmas Carol. It wasn’t horrible, honestly, and they did have the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come glide around on rollerblades. Anyway, here’s a Scrooge for you. I really want an old-timey nightshirt like that.
My friend Emily and I are a band called Kraken Vacuum. We’re a folky, indie-country sorta thing with lots of strummed guitars and a bit of twang. My wife is an English teacher, and she’s been doing a unit on the elements of literature. One of the key elements, as you may remember from your own English classes back in the day, is conflict. Conflict is the driving force behind any story, and it comes in a variety of flavors. According to the Virginia Department of Education’s Standards of Learning (SOLs, or “those things that get in the way of us teaching”), there are six different kinds of conflict:

It’s been raining here in Northern Virginia all day, and so of course today was the day I took a group of students to a museum up in Washington, DC. Have a rainy day sort of doodle.
Today, I thought I’d try my hand at doodling my lovely, lovely wife in all her caffeinated glory. I fear I have not done her justice (it’s hard to do justice to boobs that magnificent).
In the English class, we’re using an episode of Twilight Zone to teach the students about plot structure and story elements. So here, have a sketch that might kinda sorta look like Rod Serling. Maybe. I dunno, I didn’t have a photo reference to work from.

Anyway, the wife has requested I make her some fancy new low-carb pancakes, so have a drawing while I attempt to figure out a recipe.
