Students ask me about my political leanings all the time, and I always have to tell them that I can’t tell them because I don’t want to be accused of brainwashing the kids.

Terry Pratchett passed away on Thursday.
I still remember the first a pratchett novel I read, Thief of Time. It was back in college, and a friend recommended it to me. I was instantly hooked. in short order, I read all the rest of the Discworld series.
Terry a Pratchett is the reason I’m a writer. He’s the reason I approach stories with humor, even when the story is serious, because humor and seriousness are not mutually exclusive.
Sir Terry was taken from us far too soon. I know I, for one, am going to miss his warmth, and wit, and courage.
