Took the students bowling Friday. I didn’t do so hot, but in my defense, my arms and wrists have been really sore since I ran into a wall playing kickball Tuesday.

I have a pair of Tom’s I’ve been wearing for a couple of months straight. Without socks they are pretty funky. Like, visible stink lines funky.

Tuesday night, the Wife (who is, I should mention, Italian) suggested Olive Garden for dinner. I found the suggestion more than a little strange, given that there are several other (quite good) Italian restaurants in the area we could eat at instead.

My brother and father want to hike the Grand Canyon in March. I want to go with them. I need to really work out a lot and get in something other than pear shape before then, or I very well might die.

I have a full head of luxurious hair. If the other members of my family are any indication, it ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. Also, it will stay dark and not at all gray until I turn 60, at which point it will go straight to pure white and I will look the same for the next 30 years.

As a young child, I was…slightly obsessed with astronomy. I loved it, read everything I could about stars and other planets and space travel. I sometimes think the only thing that kept me from pursuing astronomy as a career is all the math. I’m absolute rubbish at math.

Here’s the first weekend sketch. It’s based on lyrics written by Woody Guthrie (and set to music by the band Wlco back in the early 2000s). It’s a beautiful song, and I definitely recommend it (and all do the Mermaid Avenue recordings done by Billy Bragg and Wilco).
