Kids these days, amiright?

There is no right answer to this question.
Okay, there is, and the answer is “no,” but that’s beside the point.

It’s the first day of school, and I’m already tired.

It’s a good song.

For our Wednesday in-service, the social studies department invited several scholars and historians from the local community and a bunch of older alumni and alumnae from Falls Church High School to come speak with us. It was a neat lesson in local history, and my favorite part was definitely just listening to the old timers tell stories of their glory days. It reminded me of both of my grandfathers, who are consummate storytellers.

It’s just a really damn good song, that’s all.

Since I’m back at work, it means the Wife has to wake up earlier than she has all summer in order to get a ride to work. She is not happy about it.

And with that, summer is at an end for me. This week is teacher in-service week, where I get to set up my classroom (or my corner of someone else’s classroom, as seems more likely) and get ready to face students next Monday. Wish me luck!

I went to the doctor on Thursday and got my ear rinsed out. Apparently I didn’t have an ear infection or swimmer’s ear, like the doctor at the walk-in clinic told me, but rather just a whole heckuva lot of earwax crammed in there. It was super gross but very satisfying to be able to hear again.
