It’s amazing just how often this happens at our house. Like, once a day, I’d say. Allison is a real good sport about it, too.

Terra Nova
I feel bad about yesterday’s sketch going up late, so here’s a little song demo thing that I put together awhile back. It was mostly an effort to figure out how to use the drum tracks in Garageband, but I also had a chord progression going through my head that I wanted to get to tape (as it were) before I forgot it. It’s a genre my uncle dubbed “Red Dirt Surf,” a term which I quite like (I mean, Oklahoma doesn’t really have any place you can find waves, but we had plenty of red dirt, and even if I don’t live there anymore, that place is in my bones). Anyway, enjoy “Terra Nova.”
Sketch a Day, Day 97
So I’ve been drawing in the evenings after all of my work and chores are done. Usually, this isn’t a problem: the Adderall keeps me moving and awake well-past when I’d like to be abed. However, I haven’t been taking the Adderall on the weekends, and I’ve been feeling…drowsy as a result. Couple that with the fact that my wife kept me awake most of Friday night (and not in that sexy way), and I ended up going to bed at like 8:15 last night. Without having completed the day’s sketch.
So, yes, I apologize for the lateness of this drawing. It won’t happen again, unless I happen to be really sleepy and go to bed before I’ve done a drawing. In which case it’ll totally happen again.
Sketch a Day, Day 96
I am, in a word, exhausted. I haven’t been sleeping well since I started taking the Adderall three weeks ago (as chronicled here), and it’s finally catching up with me. In fact, I’m gonna go ahead and go to bed now.
Sketch a Day, Day 95
My sister in law, Allison, she of the delicious cakes and bizarre dialogue, has promised to put a picture of my choosing on my birthday cake later this month. This was what sprang rather immediately to mind. I mean, Teddy Roosevelt is obviously the best of presidents, and also a dude who would straight up punch a bear in the face while wearing a monocle.
